I present to you a new belligerent soon to enter the stage in our Metal Sun Narrative WFB Campaign...
Kugrosh Ironskull!
His banner will be sorted soon, but I couldn't resist showing him off already. The old boar riding Orcs from Warhammer are a bit of a pain; you really need to pin them on I think, but locating the pin isn't easy because of how they fit onto the boar (you have to sort of push them forward and down to seat them, which actually rubbed some paint off the boar on this mini once I put it together after painting, easily fixed but annoying).
Kugrosh here is the latest greenskin threat who will soon emerge in our campaign. In game terms he's a Black Orc Warlord in the Warhammer Renaissance Orc & Goblin army list. Hailing from the Eastern side of the Forest of Gloom, he's bringing his warband and bolstering it with the scattered remnants of the late Agdrakk Gutfinder's army. Agdrakk was a small time, Common Orc Hero who led a small raiding force near to the Forest of Gloom's edge, and bit off more than he could chew against the forces of Akendorf. These events can be seen in the campaign videos, linked in an earlier post.
Anyone following our campaign will know that Akendorf and its holdings are beset by a sudden series of attacks from numerous Undead armies, seemingly emerging from the North East. Warlord Kugrosh may find himself facing more than just 'umies, but maybe some dead uns too, as luck wouldn't have it. Who knows, perhaps his own machinations could end up offering some unexpected and unusual relief to Akendorf!
I think my favourite part of this miniature is its shield - which is a third party one I pinned in place. It's very whimsically oldhammer. We've decided that it represents the magic item "Spell Eater Shield" in game terms, but in narrative terms it's a sentient chaos artefact that advises Kugrosh! We've also decided there may be other such shields out there, and they all hate each other. Not sure how that will play out, if it ever does, but it's a nice little tidbit!
